A writ bond give a licensed, qualified attorney the ability to have an inmate released from jail within hours instead of possible waiting for days to have a bond set by a judge or magistrate.
Typically, an inmate can be release within 2 to 3 hours with an Attorney Writ Bond. It could take 2 to 3 days before a judge or magistrate sets a bond.
MOST, class A and class B misdemeanors qualify for and Attorney Writ Bond. These include DWI, theft and possession of marijuana charges.
